MoU on Transportation of LNG

TALKS: Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki holdings talks with Bin Batti Group, Tatweer Infrastructure Company, Overseas Shipholding Group and the Gas Authority of India Limited offials yesterday. — ONA
MUSCAT — Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, Minister of National Economy, Deputy chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy resources Council and chairman of of the Oman Shipping Company (OSC), received in his office yesterday a trade delegation representing a number of international companies operating in the gas field.
The delegation comprised Bin Batti Group (UAE), Tatweer Infrastructure Company (Qatar), Overseas Shipholding Group (USA) and the Gas Authority of India, limited (Gail). During the meeting, aspect of joint cooperation among these companies and OSC have been discussed.
Macki highlighted a number of policies and goals adopted by OSC to enhance national economy in the field of gas shipping and marketing as well as the efforts being exerted by the government to set uo joint investment ventures in the Sultanate,s various regions.
Earlier, Oman Shipping Company signed an MOU with the above mentioned companies for setting up a joint venture company to carry out the upstream activities of LNG products in the region.
The MOU stipulates that besides investing in the new LNG train, Oman Shipping Cmpany and Overseas Shipholding group will be involved in all the shipping angles for the transportation of LNG from this venture.
The MOU was signed by Ahil bin Abdullah Al Raisi, OSC general manager; sheikh Hamid bin Khadim bin Batti Al Hamid, BBG chairman; Hamad Al Haroun, TIC's general manager; Gail executive manager and the manager of gas affairs at OSG. — ONA
